Monkey Punch's latest series, Gun-do Musashi, began airing 9 April 2006 on Japanese satellite station BS-i. Monkey Punch rewrites the classic character Miyamoto Musashi; in this version, Musashi not only wields a sword but also a pair of pistols.
The basic plot revolves around Musashi romaing feudal Japan, specifically Osaka. A princess has been targeted by a demonic entity; it is up to Musashi, a fellow swordsman, and her faitful retainer to stop this menace. Musashi packs some special bullets to fight the supernatural enemies, but the others all possess some supernatural powers of their own.
